Road Closures and Impacts: Marine Avenue and Cedar Avenue
There will be intermittent street closures and impacts at the intersection of Marine Avenue and Cedar Avenue due to the Traffic Signal and Intersection Improvements Project.

Road Closure (Peck Avenue)
Peck Avenue south of Manhattan Beach Boulevard will be closed Thursday until mid-Friday. The street closure is due to the construction of the cross gutter located along the south side of Manhattan Beach Boulevard crossing Peck Avenue.

Maintenance and System Upgrade on Internal Email System
The City of Manhattan Beach will be conducting maintenance and a system upgrade on its internal email system resulting in a planned email outage this weekend. City email will be unavailable from Friday, April 21 at 7:00 PM through Sunday, April 23 at 7:00 PM.

Manhattan Beach Names New Community Development Director
City Manager Bruce Moe announced that he has named Talyn Mirzakhanian the new Community Development Director for the City of Manhattan Beach. She has been serving as Acting Community Development Director since January 2023, and joined the City as the Planning Manager in November 2020.

City Council Appoints Members To Outdoor Dining Task Force
At its meeting on Tuesday April 4, the City Council appointed eight members and eight alternates to the Outdoor Dining Task Force. The Task Force is comprised of community members and residents who will study and make recommendations to the City Council for a long-term outdoor dining program.

Manhattan Beach Police Department Arrests Seven Suspects, Recovers Stolen Jewelry From Pasha Fine Jewelry Store Robbery
MBPD Detectives and Officers worked throughout the night following investigative leads related to the robbery at Pasha Fine Jewelry. In addition to the five adults arrested at the conclusion of the pursuit last night, two juveniles were detained in a separate traffic stop.

At approximately 7:23 PM on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, Manhattan Beach Police Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle involved in the Pasha Fine Jewelry Store Robbery. The driver failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated.

The City of Manhattan Beach is seeking to commission an original, site-specific sculptural artwork to honor the history and legacy of the Bruce’s Beach neighborhood. The artwork should evoke a sense of peace, healing, and community, and offer an educational opportunity for visitors.
